# Shards

Shards represent the building blocks of Treasure Boxes and are scattered throughout the ecosystem of Bounty Temple--waiting to be collected, combined, and transformed into valuable [Treasure Boxes](/whitepaper-v1/marketplace-and-tokenomics/treasure-boxes.md).
**How does this work？**

Shards are collected through the drop rate system. This means that the greater the Staking amount, the higher the likelihood of receiving valuable rewards. In effect, the frequency of receiving lower-tier Shards diminishes conversely to the [Staking ](/whitepaper-v1/marketplace-and-tokenomics/staking.md)contribution amount, ensuring access to higher-tier Shards necessary for crafting Treasure Boxes that yield superior rewards.
Here’s a table to briefly illustrate Bounty Temple Shard’s Drop Rate:
To reiterate, by combining four (4) Shards from each element, players can unlock one (1) Treasure Box. However, it is important to note that players are only able to acquire a Treasure Box through consolidating four Shards from every elemental division according to the tiering system. Combining Shards from different elements is not possible.
